What motivates you to work hard?
I believe in our clients. Though I’m not currently practicing law, helping people find great lawyers is how I work for justice.
How long have you worked at LISI?
I started right after quarantine started. So, 4,000 years or so.
What were your previous employment roles and responsibilities?
I have worn many hats in my career: I practiced law at Blank Rome, I clerked for a homicide judge in Philly, I taught writing to middle schoolers. Throughout it all, I have written fiction and creative non-fiction.
What’s one thing – either industry related or not – that you learned this month?
During a trip to Disney World, it is imperative to take a day off from the parks. Trust me on this.
What has been the most important career advice you were given so far?
When I talked to my dad about taking a break from practicing law, he said, “This isn’t the dress rehearsal.” I think about that when I’m scared to make a change.
What is one thing on your bucket list you can’t wait to do?
Publish a novel.
Are you a dog or cat person?
Dogs. All day every day. Especially during quarantine, when my pug is next to me all day every day.
What is your favorite movie?
When Harry Met Sally. It is rom-com perfection. I quote this movie daily, without even meaning to. “You find yourself singing Surrey with a Fringe on Top, in front of Ira!”
What is your favorite book?
Pride and Prejudice. If I could write one book a tenth as good, I’d die happy.
What is your favorite tv show?
I’m digging WandaVision right now, though I think I only understand 40% of what’s happening. As my 9-year-old says, “It’s so meta.”
Name one fun fact about you that would surprise others?
I live on the same block where my dad grew up. So very Philly.
